This project is about the force that the hands of working women share – regardless of their nationalities – with a common feeling of effort and hard work. Through their lines, scars and textures, their hands express the particular road each woman has gone through and the life she’s had.
It is important to recognize the work that women do in manual jobs or handcrafts; not just a physical effort, but also a mental and emotional one. Many of these women have different roles in their daily lives, as students, workers, housewives, mothers, family leaders and more. Some of them come from another country and are far from their families. All their effort and work comes from the desire to find better opportunities and improve their wellbeing.
These hands are tools that communicate passion, love, strength and, most importantly, tools for the creation of original and unique things. Whether their hands are pretty or not, what gives them value and pleasure is the feeling of independence.
